A pioneer in conservation

Founded in 1962 by the legendary Ho Chi Minh, Cuc Phuong is Vietnam's first national park. For over six decades, this natural sanctuary has played a crucial role in preserving rare species such as the Delacour's langur and the large-spotted civet.

A park located in the heart of Northern Vietnam

Nestled at the crossroads of Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, and Thanh Hoa provinces, Cuc Phuong awaits you just 120 km southwest of Hanoi. An ideal getaway to escape the urban hustle and bustle!

How to reach this green paradise from Hanoi

To reach Cuc Phuong from Hanoi, the most convenient and economical way is by bus. Head to Giap Bat bus station (located at 6 Đường Giáp Bát, Giáp Bát, Hoàng Mai, Hà Nội). Buses regularly depart for Nho Quan, the closest town to the park. The journey takes about 3 hours and costs between 100,000 and 150,000 VND (approximately 4 to 6 euros). From Nho Quan, you can take a taxi or a xe om (motorbike taxi) for the final 15 kilometers to the park entrance.

Choosing the best time for your adventure

For an optimal experience, plan your exploration between October and April. The dry and cool climate during this period provides ideal conditions for exploration. Avoid the rainy season from May to September, which can turn your hike into a challenging trek!

Where to stay and dine in the park

Cuc Phuong caters to all styles:
  • • Single rooms at the visitor center for practical travelers
  • • Comfortable bungalows for those seeking a bit more luxury
  • • Camping areas for the adventurous souls
When it comes to dining, the restaurant at the visitor center will introduce you to local flavors. Don't forget your snacks and water for your hikes!
