From island retreats to city hotspots, these are our favourite new hotel openings in Vietnam in 2019.
 
Anantara Quy Nhon Villas

This brand new Anantara villa-only resort will be opening on the outskirts of the coastal city of Quy Nhon in January 2019. Just 26 villas will be available to stay in on the site, giving it a true feeling of exclusivity. With direct beach access or bay views from the hillside, each villa offers guests something a little different. All of life’s luxuries are available here, from in-villa wine cellars to private butlers, while unique experiences include meditation sessions led by monks in the jungle spa.

ZAZZ Urban Ho Chi Minh Hotel

A new boutique hotel with just 40 rooms in the heart of Saigon’s Chinatown will be open by March 2019, providing a brilliant city escape in Vietnam. It’s a small but stylish hotel with immense city views over Ho Chi Minh City. It’ll also be a place to start and finish the day, as Vietnamese coffee and pastries will be served in the morning, while an array of drinks will be on offer for sunset in the rooftop bar.

The Unbound Collection by Hyatt

The first hotel in South East Asia by The Unbound Collection is set to open at the beginning of 2019 in Vietnam. Located on the island of Phu Quoc, the 114-room hotel will have access to secluded beaches and jungle-like gardens. Phu Quoc is an island known for its 90 miles of white sandy beaches and National Park, which covers half of the island. The perfect spot for idyllic relaxation and exploring nature, this new opening will be the ideal base to make the most of what the island has to offer.

Ramada by Wyndham

A new hotel under two hours from Ho Chi Minh City in Ho Tram, this hotel by Wyndham is set to open towards the end of 2019. Ho Tram is known for being a beautiful but relatively undeveloped beachfront, giving visitors the feeling of exclusivity and discovery when they stay here. With 198 rooms, including seven penthouse suites and 36 villas, this will be a beach resort unlike others in Vietnam. The location is also ideal for visiting all the attractions of Ho Chi Minh City, as well as the floating markets of the Mekong Delta in the other direction. The hotel will also be located near The Bluffs, a championship golf course and one of the top 100 golf courses in the world.

Meliá Saigon Central

This 75-room hotel will be located on a prime spot on the banks of the Saigon River and will open during 2019, with additional rooms to be built at a later date. This hotel is all about brilliant views and perfect access to everything Ho Chi Minh City has to offer, and is particularly close to the Saigon Opera House. Offering additional benefits compared to smaller city hotels, Meliá Saigon Central will have a swimming pool, multiple restaurants and a wellness zone.
