Day 1: Hanoi - Mai Chau - Pu Luong (L/D)
Starting this

in Hanoi, where you will get a shuttle van to
Mai Chau
before getting on a bicycle. Then you will proceed to ride along the famous Ho Chi Minh trail, complete with spectacular views of an undulating river valley. Eventually you will approach
Hoi Xuan and Pu Luong
, where you will spend the night in a nature reserve homestay.

Day 2: Pu Luong - Ngoc Lac (B/L/D)
After finishing breakfast, it’s time to get back on the bike and leave
Pu Luong
behind. The rolling terrain continues, providing even more spectacular views, while the tarmaced road provides a comfortable ride. After 70km you will reach
Ngoc Lac
, where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Ngoc Lac - Kim Lien - Vinh (B/L/D)
The recently built two-lane
Ho Chi Minh Highway
will take you to
Kim Lien
, which is the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh, the most important figure in Vietnamese history. Following this you will ride out of the mountains and down to the city of
Vinh
, which is where you will spend the night, located close to the beach.

Day 4: Vinh - Huong Khe (B/L/D)
For the fourth day of your

, you will head back up into the mountains and onto the Ho Chi Minh Highway. As you make your way towards
Huong Khe
, the terrain will become increasingly mountainous and offer a plethora of magnificent views. After 80km of riding through this stunning terrain, you will reach Huong Khe, where your next bed will be waiting for you.

Day 5: Huong Khe - Phong Nha (B/L/D)
As you get back on the tranquil and historical Ho Chi Minh Trail, you will get to see rising mountains and roads winding up and down the rolling hillsides. This days destination will be
Phong Nha
, which is famous for its natural beauty and spectacular cave systems. Here you will overnight before heading on the following day.
- This day includes 80km of cycling.
Day 6: Phong Nha - Cam Lo - Khe Sanh (B/L/D)
The sixth day of cycling will take you further along the Ho Chi Minh Trail until you reach
Cam Lo
. Here you will transfer on a shuttle van to
Khe Sanh
, near the border with Laos, which is where you will be spending the night.
- This day includes 80km of cycling.
Day 7: Khe Sanh - A Luoi (B/L/D)
This day begins with a ride through amazing scenery to the
Khe Sanh
army base, before heading on to
A Luoi
. Now on the southern part of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, you will encounter little traffic as the terrain grows even more undulating. In A Luoi you will spend the night.
- This day includes 65km of cycling.
Day 8: A Luoi - Hue (B/L/D)
As the roads south of A Luoi are in poor condition, you will proceed east to
Hue
, where you will spend the next two nights.
- This day includes 60km of cycling.
Day 9: Hue (B/L/D)
After a long week of cycling, it’s time for a rest, and there is no better place for some relaxing sightseeing than the famous Imperial Capital of
Hue
. Included in the trip is a tour of the
Forbidden Purple City
, the old imperial palace, as well as a boat ride along the
Perfume River
. Once your day of rest and sightseeing is over, you will spend your second night in Hue and prepare for the final three days of riding.
- This day includes no cycling.
Day 10: Hue - Hoi An (B/L/D)
Start the day on your bicycle climbing the roads up to
Hai Van Pass
(Pass of the Mountain Clouds) before switching to a motorbike and enjoying an epic ride down from the mountains and along the coast to
Da Nang and Hoi An
, which will be the stopping point on this day.

Day 11: Hoi An - My Son - Hoi An (B/L/D)
Taking scenic back roads through the countryside, our

. This part of the journey will take you past sweeping rice paddy fields, lovely villages and through a dense eucalyptus forest and a lush jungle along the
Song Tranh River
. By the end of the day you will have looped back to Hoi An, where you will stop for the day.

Day 12: Hoi An - Da Nang (B/L)
On the final day you are free to explore Hoi An as you please, taking in the truly magnificent historical city. After taking the time to explore here it will come as no surprise that the whole city is classified as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. After exploring Hoi An you will be transferred on a shuttle van to Da Nang Airport where you can get a flight to
Ho Chi Minh City
.
