Halong Bay (Vietnam)

Introduction

Imagine a landscape where thousands of islands emerge from a turquoise sea, their silhouettes draped in lush vegetation. Limestone cliffs rise majestically, sculpted by time and elements, creating a breathtaking scenery. Welcome to Halong Bay, a true paradise on earth where nature has unfolded its most beautiful features.

The most popular way to discover the karstic landscapes of Halong Bay is to take a cruise. Maybe it's a fake economy to sign up for an ultra-cheap tour. Spend a little more and enjoy the experience much more.
Did you know that? The name Halong Bay includes three bays: Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay

Halong Bay

If the mystical sea scenery of limestone islets is a sight of breathtaking beauty, it is by far the most frequent! For an experience away from the crowds or even more intimate, prefer Lan Ha Bay or Bai Tu Long

Lan Ha Bay

Located to the south and east of the city of Cat Ba, itself off the port city of Hai Phong, Lan Ha's 300 or so karst islands and limestone outcrops are just as beautiful as those of Halong Bay, but more isolated and unspoilt, with the added attraction of many white sandy beaches. Boat trips and kayak excursions are easily organised from the town of Cat Ba.

Bay of Bai Tu Long

The spectacular islands of Bai Tu Long Bay, just northeast of Halong Bay, form Bai Tu Long National Park and are just as beautiful as its famous neighbor. The bay and its islands are still unpolluted and relatively undeveloped.
