After checking into day rooms in the morning to freshen up and prepare for your trek, you'll embark on an exciting adventure into the remote and picturesque surrounding regions of Chiang Mai.
Your first destination on your

Karen village of Ban Pong Noi
. Here, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and way of life as you stay with a Karen family in their home.
Along the way to Ban Pong Noi, you'll make a stop at the magnificent
Mok Fah Waterfall
. This beautiful natural spot provides an excellent backdrop for a relaxing lunch break. You can also take a refreshing swim in the clear waters if you desire.Before reaching the starting point of your trek, you'll take a detour to the Mae Malai local market.
The trekking portion of your day begins at
Baan Mae Sae
, and it covers a distance of approximately 2.8 kilometers, taking around 2 hours to complete. The trek to
Ban Pong Noi
is relatively straightforward, offering you the chance to enjoy the natural beauty of the region and experience the tranquility of the jungle.
You'll arrive in Ban Pong Noi in the late afternoon, where you'll spend the night with a local family. This homestay experience is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the daily life and traditions of the Karen people in this rural part of Thailand.

Day 3: Hilltribes trek (B/L/D)
Your day begins early as you rise to take a tour of the
Karen village
, where you spent the night. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain deeper insights into the daily life, culture, and traditions of the Karen people. After your village tour, you'll sit down to enjoy a hearty breakfast, fueling up for the day's adventure.
Once you're energized and ready to go, you'll start today's trek. Prepare for an exciting journey through diverse landscapes that will take you through jungles, rice paddies, rotation dry farms, streams, rivers, and waterfalls. Along the way, you'll pass by more Karen villages, each with its unique charm and character.
The first leg of the trek is characterized by steep uphill and downhill sections through bamboo forests. You'll be surrounded by lush vegetation and the sounds of nature as you make your way through the jungle. The total walking time for this part of the trek is approximately 3 hours.
After lunch, you'll continue your trek for another 2-3 hours, traversing through captivating landscapes until you reach a Lahu village. This

will be your base for the night. Today's total walking distance covers approximately 11 kilometers.
Upon arriving at the Lahu village, you'll have the opportunity to explore and interact with the Lahu people, learning about their way of life and culture. Your hosts will welcome you with warm hospitality as you settle into the village for the evening.

Day 4: Hilltribes trek / Chiang Mai (B/L)
The 4th day of your
Thailand Hilltribe Trek
begins with a hearty breakfast in the Lahu village. After breakfast, take a leisurely walk around the village to observe the locals going about their morning routines.
During your visit to the village, you'll also have the chance to purchase local handicrafts. Buying directly from community enterprises is a meaningful way to support community development and the livelihoods of the local people.
Next, you'll start today's trek through a picturesque landscape that includes farmland and lush jungle. The trekking portion of the day is estimated to take approximately 3-4 hours.
Your trek will lead you to a Thai village where you'll enjoy a delicious lunch. This is also where you'll link up with your transportation for the journey back to Chiang Mai.
In the afternoon, you'll embark on a roughly 2-hour drive back to Chiang Mai, where you'll return to the bustling city after your immersive trekking experience.
