This is a complex of 8th-century temples that overlook the Cai River, testifying to the grandeur of the Champa kingdom. This major archaeological and cultural site is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus.
According to legend, Yan Po Nagar, the protective goddess of the Champa kingdom, taught the inhabitants essential skills such as rice cultivation and weaving. A popular story tells that she was a fairy who, after marrying a Chinese prince, returned to her native land to visit her family. The Vietnamese then integrated this figure into their own mythology, renaming her Thiên Y Thánh Mẫu.
