The Essentials

Let's begin with the must-tries, the ones you'll find in every bar and restaurant across the country. Bia Saigon, produced since 1949, is a light and refreshing lager, perfect for quenching your thirst under the Vietnamese sun. For a bolder flavor, opt for Bia Hanoi, a dark beer with a rich malty taste. Known for its refreshing and slightly bitter taste, Larue beer is a Vietnamese beer produced since 1909 in Dà Nang. It is one of the oldest beers in Vietnam and remains one of the most popular. Larue beer is brewed by Heineken Vietnam Brewery, which is part of the Heineken group. As for Bia Huda, an abbreviation for "Huế & Đan Mạch," it is a blonde lager beer produced and bottled in Huế, Vietnam, by the Hue Brewery (formerly Carlsberg Vietnam Brewery). Its creation dates back to 1972, the result of a collaboration between the Hue Brewery and the Danish Carlsberg group.

Venture Off the Beaten Path

Beyond the big brands, Vietnam is seeing a flourishing of microbreweries offering original creations that seduce the finest palates. These artisanal breweries do not hesitate to experiment with new recipes, using local ingredients and drawing inspiration from brewing traditions from around the world. You can find beers with tropical fruits, exotic spices, Vietnamese coffee, or even infused with green tea.

Vietnam, a Beer Lover's Paradise

Whether you're a fan of light lagers, full-bodied stouts, or original creations, Vietnam has something to tantalize every palate. With its thriving microbreweries and use of local ingredients, the country is positioning itself as a must-visit destination for adventurous beer lovers.
